18th Century Nantucket Fireside Ladder Back Side Chair, circa 1780
About the Item
18th century nantucket fireside ladder back side chair, circa 1780 or earlier, having characteristic ball finials atop sausage and ball turned standards, holding three shaped back slats, above a rush seat, raised on short turned legs braced by dowel stretchers; in very old red paint.
The chair remains in very good condition, with rubs to top of finals and the expected flexibility.
Measures: 31-1/2 in H x 20-1/2 in wide x 15-1/2 in deep
