1976 Michel Cadestin & Georges Laurent Beaubourg Chair Teda for Centre Pompidou
About the Item
This is a single (multiple chairs are available, though the price listed is for each chair) original Beaubourg chair from the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. The chair was designed by Michel Cadestin and Georges Laurent as part of a design competition conceived of from Richard Rogers and Renzo Piano. Jean Prouvé was the juror for this competition and thus, the chair's design had been vetted by some of the world's most extraordinary architects and designers.
Five chairs are offered for sale. As shown, three retain what appears to be original leather upholstery. The other two are frames, though can be upholstered to match (as closely as we can) prior to shipping if desired.
They are in very good to vintage condition with some wear from use over time. It is a striking design with a fabulous story behind it. See photos to assess condition.
Each chair measures 20.75 inches wide by 20.5 inches deep and 31.25 inches tall. As noted, the price listed is for each chair. Five are available.
