Dutch Design, Set of Original Tubular Chairs with Black Upholstery, circa 1930

His incredible Dune Villa, Amsterdam Beach, find more details on his family name plus eu, is for sale soon too. :-) Two tubular chairs with wooden armrests and black upholstery. The chairs have an elegant design with beautiful details like the "rings' around the base next to the backrests ( picture #11,#13 and #14) and on the floor (#12). The chairs show traces of wear like loss of paint of the armrests (314 and #18) and rusty spots on the base (#8, #10 and #16). Picture #2 - #15 are of the chair in the best condition and #16 - #20 are of the other chair which is a bit more rusty. The upholstery is a sort a short velvety like material and is still quite good (the upholstery of chair nr 1 is slightly better) Weight 13,5 kg per piece The total width of the chair is 67 cm and the width of the seat is 57 cm Key designers for the tubular steel furniture, which became famous in the 1930s by companies as Thonet, Gispen, Auping, Fana Metaal, de Wit Schiedam, and more companies were Le Corbusier, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Marcel Breuer, Mart Stam, Rietveld, Gispen, Anton Lorenz, Paul Schuitema, Bas van Pelt, van der Vlught, etc.

The seat has some differences in color but it gains character by that. The seat has also some damage in the front (see picture #8), but is furthermore is good condition with some traces of wear. The armchair has a beautiful base. Loss of paint of the armrests and some spots of rust on the base. Also rusty spots on top of the base (see picture #9).
