English Gothic Revival Style Pair Carved-Wood Chairs, Early 20th C

About the Item

An English pair of Gothic Revival style carved and painted wood chairs, circa 1920's. This antique pair of chairs from England have been intricately carved in Gothic Revival style with classic arched back adorn with tall spire finials, and elaborately carved ribbon twist back-splats. The wooden seats are clean and squared, with arch-shaped scallops embellishing the front apron at skirt line. The chairs are each raised on a pair of recessed panel board legs on rail feet, with acanthus leaves carved at lower front, and braced with a wood stretcher just above the floor across center. The custom gray/blue finish is complimented with charcoal accents. This early 20th century pair of Gothic style chairs would make wonderful hall chairs.
