Fully Restored Pair of Medea Side Chairs in Exotic Hardwood, Nobili, 1955 Italy

About the Item

'Medea' chair, designed by Italian designer Vittorio Nobili for Tagliabue, Italy 1955. Molded exotic hardwood ply shell in a delectable satin oil finish accented with high gloss brass hardware. Four legged base of black painted steel with plastic floor glides. This chair has been awarded with the prestigious prize "Compasso d'Oro in 1956. Fully and professionally restored. The chairs have not been stained. They are only finished with a subtle oil finish, which makes the natural grain really "pop" in a very authentic way while maintaining the smooth feeling of the natural wood. The wood of one chair is darker than the other, while the grain is very similar. It provokes a beautiful interest and homage to the natural materials.
