Pair of Regency Styled Side or Accent Chairs with Reclining Nude & Swan Panels
About the Item
This pair of antique chairs are unsigned, but presumed to have originated from the United States and date to approximately 1920 and done in a Regency, or Hollywood Regency style. The chairs are done with pine frames with an ebonized finish with gilt accents. The backs of the chairs are done with oval caned panels with painted reclining nude female figures with swans. The back stretchers are decorated with ornate griffins and a Greek key motif across the front stretchers. The legs are decorated with gilt banding and stylized flowers. These chairs did come with fitted cushions as seen in the last photo, but the foam has deteriorated, so will not be included unless otherwise requested, but the photo provides a potential buyer a sense of what they would look like with cushions should that be the preference.
