Jørgen Roed is today best known for his paintings but in his time he was one of the leading artists who also made furniture together with other artists and architects like G.C Hilker, M.G Bindesbøll, N.A Abildgaard and Constantin Hansen, they all had a big interest in antiques from Pompeii and Herculanum which can be seen in both the furniture and lamps which they designed.

- Condition:Repaired: The backrest has few small repairs on the backrest and the back of the back legs also have some small repairs. The repairs do not effect the stability of the chair. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor structural damages. The wool fabric has a loose string on the backrest but it adds to the charm of the chair.
