Rosewood Rococo Revival Slipper Chairs France A Pair

About the Item

An exceptional pair of French Rococo Revival slipper chairs in Rosewood. Each chair meticulously carved with intricate detailing of flora-form in various states of bloom. Retaining the original wooden rollers and brass casters. These have been reupholstered in a gorgeous champagne colored shantung silk. One of them retained the original label from Florian Papp Inc. dated 1941. That label has been reattached.     Wear consistent with age and use. Minor fading. Frames appear to retain older if not original finish. Slight color deferential between the two with one frame a little lighter, likely sun fade. no restorations or modifications have been made other than upholstery and interior filling.
