About the Item
Three seat Sofa designed by Hartmut Lohmeyer for Wilkhahn in 1962.
Hand crafted in Germany by Wilkhahn.
The sofa is sensuous and organically shaped. It features a slightly tilted back and is executed with tapered legs. The softly bent armrests and open frame create a very calming, inviting space. The backrest of the settee is one of the main features of this lounge set by means of its woven rattan back.
Hartmut Loymeyer (1923-) was trained as an architect at the Technische Hochschule Karlsruhe. Here he studied under Egon Eiermann. And later became a furniture designer too. He developed furniture for the home in particular for Wilkhahn in the 1950s and 1960s.
The cane and the teak frame are in an nice condition, see photos.
Newly upholstered in a warm & cosy fabric by Kvadrat.
