Italian Venetian Leather Upholstered & Carved Wood Settee Sofa, 19th Century
About the Item
An Italian Venetian leather upholstered sofa from the 19th century. This antique settee from Italy features a elegantly dramatic arched top rail at backside that descends into padded, out-swept arms. The walnut frame surrounds the leather upholstered back, arms, and seat with a fluid formation that highlights the graceful movement of this piece. The sofa is presented upon six round and fluted legs, with medallion carvings at their knees (within the apron), and tapering gently to their peg style feet. Best placement for this sofa would be against a wall as the backside is not upholstered. Note that the leather has some fading at the top, some wear is noted, and there is a tear on one side armrest. However, should you ever wish to do a refresher, the cushions are all designed to easily pop out! Please refer to the additional images to see how this is done, and see more detail on condition. Arm height from floor is approximately 32.5". This 19th century Italian sofa, approximately 6.5 feet in length, is the perfect seating option to add some stylish Venetian inspiration to your study, bedroom, or living area.
