Orange PK15 Three-Seat Sofa, Steel Structure and Ebonized Legs by Paulo Kobylka
About the Item
PK15 sofa is inspired by wooden trusses used in the construction of roofs.
The sofa sockets refer to the “Gusset Plate” normally applied to reinforce the knots of wooden trusses.
Handmade carbon steel structure receives a white glossy polyurethane painting.
Solid turned wood legs are made of Jequitibá, a native tree of the Brazilian Atlantic Forest. The ebonized legs are finished in matte polyurethane varnish.
Natural wood has a unique pattern and tone that varies according to each piece.
This makes each object unique. Each piece will have its own shade and veins pattern.
The seat is made of foam and plywood only. There is no elastic webbing. Therefore it is a firm seated sofa.
Seat fabric: 60% linen and 40% cotton.
Backrest cushion fabric: 80% linen and 20% cotton. Available in grey, blue, pink and natural linen.
Avoid direct exposure to the sun.
The wood must not be wet.

Backrest cushion height 45 cm.

Studio Paulo Kobylka
Paulo Kobylka has a background in architecture and urbanism. His studio is in Londrina, south Brazil.
Graduated at Londrina State University in 2006, Paulo had his graduation work selected for the Opera Prima award. After graduating, he joined the Planning and Physical Development Office, at Londrina State University for four years.
In 2010 he founded Studio Paulo Kobylka, focusing on residential and commercial architecture.
Paulo won a Deca Award, in 2012, for a tinny toilet project.
In 2015, Paulo received an indication from the German Design Council to run for the German Design Award. The nomination yielded Paulo an honorable mention prize.
After that, he focused on product design.
In 2016, his PK6 chair project received an honorable mention at European Product Design Award. The PK6 chair was also finalist nominee at Casa Vogue Design Award in 2017.
In his projects, Paulo rethink pre-existing concepts and unite innovation and functionality, inspired by contemporary aesthetic references from different areas such as photography, fashion and music.
