Vladimir Kagan Postmodern Lucite Sofa in Mohair, 1970s
About the Item
This uncommon 3-seat sofa is, quite simply, the bee's knees. Constructed of a solid wood frame with thick lucite arms and legs and brass accents, this sofa is the epitome of chic. While it remains a little bit of a mystery, this design has always been attributed to Vladimir Kagan, and for good reason, as it fits right into his 1970s design atheistic, very similarly resembling his iconic "Omnibus" sofa, as well as other designs. We have given this piece the royal treatment including stunning luxurious mohair upholstery and thick feather down seat and back cushions. The lucite is in excellent vintage condition with only some very light crazing and tiny cosmetic scratches. The brass details have been left original and show beautiful patina. Everything else is like new. This piece is an absolute showstopper and will command attention in any space.
