19th century English oak joint stool pegged bench display stand.
Direct from England, a classic English “joint stool”. One of our most requested antiques, these stools or benches are perfect little occasional pieces, whether at the end of a sofa, beside a chair, in a powder room, or on top of a large farm table for display purposes!
This beauty has a single plank seat with deep beveled edge over a wide apron with grooved lower edge. Hand turned legs, slightly splayed are joined with thick, simple stretchers…the traditional British joint stool in every way! Well built by craftsmen of the period, circa1860.
Measurements: 16.5” ht. x 17” x 9.75”.
