American mahogany harp stool with a carved molded back, flanking gilt dolphin supports, adjustable upholstered seat with a turned bulbous shaft, and resting on the original gilt carved acanthus legs with paw feet, Early 19th century. The stool incorporates many characteristics seen on labeled pieces from the celebrated shop of cabinetmaker Duncan Phyfe, New York
