Early 19th Century French Imperial Empire Tabouret Ordered for The Tuileries

About the Item

Period French Empire Tabouret or Ployant Ordered for the Tuileries Palace under the Reign of Napoleon Bonaparte. Folding design. Carved and gilded wood. Large scale as they would have served for high ranking members of the Court. Bears Tuileries Burned Mark. In as found condition. Original gilding under later green paint. A wonderful opportunity to handle its conservation Provenance: Palais Des Tuileries, Napoleon Bonaparte.
