Late Qing Dynasty Pair Chinese Hongmu Rosewood Drum Stools, circa 1900
About the Item
A matched pair of antique Asian carved perfectly symmetrical barrel stools, late 19th-early 20th century. Made of precious hongmu, a type of rosewood, each handmade stool features a circular form with carved fretted or open slotted design details with raised relief cake dot or bullet designs to upper portion perimeter surround, cut-out handles raised on four short tiered feet. Medallion measures 9" in diameter. Eye catching piece of Chinoiserie, the stools have many uses such as plant stands, drinks table or garden seats.
