About the Item

The Hug contemporary barstool with backrest (set of 2) is designed and conceived with a light aesthetic, the slight oscillation of the steel rod of 12 mm is complemented by the flexibility of the double 3.5 mm thick leather. When sitting in this furniture you feel an enveloping sensation, like being hugged, since the weight of the body is distributed evenly. Each unit becomes a refuge of visual and ergonomic wellbeing. Our Hug Collection is inspired by the organic lines of a landscape, the curves of nature, and the imaginary silhouette of the wind inspire this collection of organic forms, almost like metallic sculptures. All pieces are done with cold bended steel rods and have a powder coating finish. Our signature screws are made with brass turning lathed, polished, and lacquered, these are the pieces that fix the saddle leather to the metal frame. Leathers are Spanish hides vegetable tanned. We use premium saddles in multiple colors to adjust to your taste and interior needs. This traditional vegetable dying and tanning method is an organic technique that relies on natural tannings from bark or plant tissues. The use of oils and natural fats give the leather a distinctive flexibility and texture, allowing it to be molded, retain its shape and age graciously. All skins are carefully selected from food industry, with a minimum thickness of 3.5 mm / 0,02 in, using the part of the animal's shoulder, which allows for larger pieces and uniformity, even though signature wrinkle from the animal’s neck may be recognizable. The vegetable tanning is a traditional and artisan treatment, which is respectful to the environment. Even with careful selection natural marks as a result of the contact with other animals, the age, origin and characteristics of the skin, or even the season in which the tanning takes place cannot be avoided. We still believe that these factors only add authenticity and uniqueness to every piece. Leather parts are made with double skins, always showing the top side of the hides that presents the better quality. Our collections are made to full fill home spaces where to gather and enjoy great conversation with families and friends. Occasional furniture for exquisite homes, from cottages to exclusive resorts. Our product is understood as a sculptural piece of design, as an art object to be displayed at different house spaces as library, bar, living, foyer, bedroom, powder, meeting, grand or great room.
