About the Item
We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely pair of RRP £9,378 George Smith Low Scroll Arm wingback armchairs with Damask upholstery.
A very good looking well made and comfortable pair of large wingback armchairs by the great George Smith, handmade in Chelsea London. The frames are heavy solid hand carved mahogany, the upholstery is Damask. The frames costs £3825 each, each chair needs 8 meters of fabric which costs £108 per meter, the total fabric cost is £869 so with the frame price they are £4689 each
Both chairs are in sublime condition, they have always been used with arm protectors so the arms are perfect. The legs have a lovely vintage patina. The back of the chairs where the heads rest have very slight barley noticeable discoloration on one and slightly more noticeable on the other, I have tried to picture but it is very faint
The cushions are nicely feather filled and fully upholstered so should the worst happen and you stain one side you can simply flip them over.

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
