Pennsylvania Walnut Country Blanket Chest with 3 Drawers
About the Item
A fine example of a country walnut country blanket or dower chest with three fitted drawers, an interior till in old red, dovetailed corners, on a carved bracket base with center carved radial fan drop. A decorative carved band runs around the front and both sides, just above the lower drawers. Dates to the late 18th or early 19th century in very good condition, with some surface stains and scratches on the top, appears to retain its original hardware, minor restorations, great overall patina and wear commensurate with age and use.
