Giuseppe Rivadossi Bookcase in Oak

About the Item

Giuseppe Rivadossi, bookcase, oak, glass, Italy, 1975. An exceptional library by the Italian sculptor and designer Giuseppe Rivadossi, featuring a high level of craftsmanship in woodwork. The sideboard offers plenty of space to display books and cherised personal belongings. A playful composition is created by the arrangement of different open and closed compartments. For instance, the upper part of the unit contains six compartments furnished with oak and glass door panels. A variety of frame sizes create an elegant and playful entity. The lower part embraces closed bi-fold door panels and therefore extend the storage possibilities. Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he still lives and works. At a young age, Rivadossi's path begins with wood carving, with works reflecting on his poetic idea of living. In 1962 Rivadossi took over the carpentry founded in 1920 by his father Clemente, which he transformed into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. Eventually, Rivadossi and collaborators established 'Officina Rivadossi' in 1976 where he started the manufacture of wooden objects and unique modern furniture. Kindly take note that this item is in good, used condition with signs of age and use. This includes wear, such as scratches, §imperfections in the veneer, and stains.
