Italian 19th Century Louis XVI Style Giltwood and Faux Painted Marble Étagère
About the Item
A beautiful and most decorative Italian 19th century Louis XVI st. giltwood and faux painted marble étagère bookshelf. The étagère is raised by elegant circular mottled feet below impressive circular baluster shaped columns leading up each side with lovely richly carved foliate designs. The open center displays one adjustable shelf with a fine mottled border while each side displays remarkable faux painted marble panels. The frieze displays a richly carved luxuriant scrolled foliate design, seashells, and the eternal flame below the original wonderfully executed faux painted marble top. All original gilt throughout.
