Late 19th Century French Louis XVI Period Mahogany Bookcase or Vitrine, Bronze
About the Item
This late nineteenth century Louis XVI mahogany Bibliotheque or bookcase is finished in stunning bronze banding. Bronze-fluted corners flank its two beveled glass doors. The doors open to reveal an interior fitted with four adjustable interior shelves and two lower drawers of dovetail construction. An addition lower drawer below the doors is detailed with a central bronze cartouche surrounded by scrolling leaves and tassels. Each corner of the crown is appointed with a bronze finial. The case rests on Classic Louis XVI finial feat. Includes one key, circa 1870.
