We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely antique salvaged and restored antique solid oak bookcase that came from an old Victorian bar Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, for an accurate quote please send me your postcode and I’ll price it up for you We purchased this from a client who bought it directly from a London pub that had been standing for over 150 years, the place was being modernised and he purchased this from the owners, he then varnished it about 12 times and used it for 20 odd years as a normal bookcase Since buying the bookcase we have committed around six man days into hand sanding back and stripping off all the old varnish, it was a horrible hard and time consuming process but we knew the timber underneath would be stunning. We then hand waxed and polished it back to life. The bookcase was flush against a right wall which is why there’s no trim on the right side, we can have our carpenter remove the left side as well, sand down and then wax the corner, it will be a good finish and would cost around £50, also as you can see there's a small square cut out for running electrics through, this will no doubt be covered up by any books however we can have it filled if required although I'm unsure of the cost Dimensions Height:- 225cm (Top section alone 120cm) Width:- 177cm Depth:- 33cm at the top, 31cm at the bottom Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask Any questions please feel free to ask before you bid CONDITION Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please also ask any questions before you bid and not after, all of our items are sold as seen and as listed Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade
