18th Century French Walnut Buffet
About the Item
18th century walnut buffet from France with gorgeous burl walnut details throughout the piece. The top is banded and has a beveled edge, following down to hand paneled sides with scalloping on the skirt. There are two drawers, both banded in boxwood and retaining what appears to be the original forged iron hardware, over two raised paneled doors, with the panels being made from burl walnut, which is an elegant detail. The central focal point between the cabinet doors is also burl and inlaid with burl walnut and satinwood with rosewood detail as well. The doors open to reveal shelving and the case is scalloped at the skirt over cabriole feet.
