French 19th Century Neoclassical Style Walnut and Ormolu Two-Door/Drawer Buffet

About the Item

A stunning and very high quality French 19th century Neo-Classical st. burl walnut, ormolu and Vert de Patricia marble buffet. The two door and two drawer buffet is raised by Fine square tapered legs with foliate ormolu sabots and lovely finely detailed acanthus leaves. Above the straight frieze are two doors, each displaying a most decorative butterfly veneered background, showcasing the beautiful burl walnut wood grain Each door is decorated with a beautiful richly chased central ormolu mount of an urn overflowing with flowers, charming swaging laurel garlands and foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheons. The doors are separated by an impressive finely detailed elongated urn and flanked by architectural columns with mottled foliate plinths and ionic capitals. The doors open to reveal one shelf and all original hardware. The two drawers are decorated with elegant ormolu berried laurel branch keyhole escutcheons, separated by a pierced ormolu rosette and flanked by eternal flames with tied ribbons above each leg. Above is the original Vert de Patricia marble top. All original shelves and hardware.
