19th Century French Louis XVI Napoleon III Mahogany Cabinet
About the Item
A stunning, rare and elegantly decorated Parisian Napoleon III period bedside cabinet with beautiful, original richly aged patina.
Finely hand-crafted in Paris, France in the third quarter of the 19th century, exceptionally excuted in sophisticatled Louis XVI style, Directoire taste, with luxuriously appointed Neoclassical architectural form solid mahogany case, deep luxurious burgundy wine reddish, embellished with gilt brass trim, fitted with single drawer over drop-front cabinet door opening to marble-lined interior chamber, and two additional drawers below, with quality dovetail joinery, flanked by fluted column pillar supports, rising on bun feet. Striking original variegated breccia marble top.

Ideal proportions for a variety of uses, including as a bedside commode, side table, end table, lamp stand, sculpture or statue pedestal, hall table and more.
