20th Century Italian Wood Modern Afrormosia Cabinets Vittorio Dassi, 1950

About the Item

Fantastic example of modern Italian furniture by Vittorio Dassi, in excellent state of conservation. The elegance of the Italian designers of that period is seen in the constant search for beauty and proportions, with the use of particular and exotic essences. The piece of furniture in question was made in Afrormosia (Pericopsis elata), a wood now rare and in extinction, mistakenly mistaken for rosewood (although some pieces of furniture were made both of rosewood and teak). Mobile of considerable dimensions but easy to place both in ultra modern, vintage, and even classical contexts. Inlaid door that hides an illuminated Bar corner when opened. Two drawers, three visible shelves and two doors. All worked in a sublime way. To be restored.
