Antique French Louis XIV Petit Buffet, Confiturier

About the Item

Antique French Louis XIV petit buffet ~ confiturier is the perfect size for a special niche, between two windows, or especially as a truly unique sink vanity in the bathroom! Low enough to serve as a credenza behind the desk, or even as a surface plus cabinet behind the sofa, it features a combination of classical architecture with fluted pilasters on each corner and bold corbel feet, plus gracious Baroque-inspired carved relief across the facade, with the doors splitting the carving into two halves. Doors open to reveal two surfaces, easily convertible to accommodate water and drain, or to leave as is for book and what-not storage. Behind the desk, it's perfect for a lamp and telephone, or for display items, while providing file storage below. Solid oak construction was used throughout the work, even on the side where double raised panels help create visual intrigue from any angle, and even the back! Circa early 1900s. Measures 36.5H x 47W x 24D.
