Chinese 1930s Art Deco Black Lacquer Two-Toned Side Cabinet with Bamboo Design

About the Item

A Chinese Art Deco period two-toned black lacquer side cabinet from the early 20th century, with bamboo design and petite burl wood panels. Created in China during the Art Deco period, this side cabinet features a rectangular top with central board, sitting above two drawers over two doors. Our eyes are immediately drawn to the lighter toned bamboo motifs that stand out beautifully on the black lacquered ground. The two drawers of the upper section showcase horizontal bamboo slats and are fitted with brass ring pulls on circular plates. The two doors below, adorned with concentric motifs surrounding small burl wood panels, open thanks to a traditional hardware with ornate pulls to a reddish brown interior made of inner shelves offering convenient storage options. The sides present simply carved panels while the back shows no décor. Raised on four straight feet connected to one another through a humpback stretcher in the front accented with pillar strut motifs, this Chinese Art Deco two toned side cabinet circa 1930 will bring a stylish presence to any home, placed in a living room or dining room.
