Chinese Qing Dynasty Painted Cabinet

About the Item

A late 18th century 4-door lacquered cabined from the Qing Dynasty, China, decorated in red lacquer with gilt and painted scenes of traditional village life of the period. The fitted interior has a shelf containing two smaller drawers. Original bronze hardware. A very dramatic piece with lots of character and history.

    Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Older shrinkage cracks on the doors filled and touched up with red lacquer. Wear to the gilded decoration. Structurally sound and sturdy. Considerable retouching and filling.
