Dutch 1850s Rococo Revival Painted Cabinet with Glass Doors and Bombé Chest

About the Item

A Dutch Rococo Revival painted cabinet from the mid 19th century with two glass doors over three drawers and original hardware. This painted cabinet, created in the Netherlands during the 1850s, features a bonnet shaped pediment, exquisitely adorned in its center with a typical rococo scroll motif decorated with delicate flowers. The shaped glass doors open to reveal two inner shelves with three interior drawers. This upper cabinet sits above three bombé drawers grooved on the side for the runner, combining convex and concave lines. Our visual experience comes to a conclusion with the scalloped skirt and ball-and-claw feet on which the vitrine is raised. With its distressed light colored finish, curvy Rococo lines and perfect proportions, this Dutch 1850s cabinet will be a lovely focal point in any room.
