Early 20th Century Walnut Music Canterbury Cabinet with Stand

About the Item

Late Victorian walnut music Canterbury cabinet with stand, early 20th century. Set upon straight splayed legs, this charming stand features a lower partitioned shelf, six-pane beveled glass door and galleried top with bronze finials. The interior cabinet has one shelf and the top lifts up intended to hold sheet music. A subtle incised design borders the length of the cabinet and carved spandrels support two open shelves. This piece has an elegant form with nicely figured walnut having bead board style trim on the sides and beautiful hardware adding excellent detail. In addition, the beveled glass panes give the cabinet notable dimension. It has a lock and key but the key serves as a pull and does not lock the door. This is a wonderful stand which may be used in a variety of settings. Not only perfect for the music lover but also great to display books and house valuables. It is in good antique condition showing minimal signs of use. The cabinet height with stand down is 45.75" high. Measurement provided is with stand up.

  • Dental Cabinet, Early 20th Century
    Located in Wrocław, Poland
This stunning Dental Cabinet was possibly manufactured in USA by Lee Smith & Sons in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Notable for its distinctive nickel hinges and trim, as well as the iconic swing-out drawers synonymous with Lee Smith & Sons, this piece stands as a testament to an era of unparalleled craftsmanship. The piece is made of solid wood (and is pretty heavy). Adorned with twelve meticulously nickel-plated swing-out drawers, complemented by two discreet blind doors below and two elegant glass doors above, further enhanced by an extendable top this cabinet exudes both functionality and elegance. The piece was gently restored, wooden elements were cleaned and finished with high quality wax, nickeled metal parts remain in beautiful original vintage condition. A very unique and rare treasure that will be an unusual element of any original interior such as loft, barber shop etc. Among traders called the Holy Grail of antique medical furniture...
