French 19th Century Transitional Style Kingwood, Ormolu, and Marble Cabinet
About the Item
An elegant French 19th century Louis XV st. Kingwood, Tulipwood, ormolu, and Rouge Griotte marble cabinet. The three door cabinet à hauteur d'appui is raised by tapered lightly curved legs with fine pierced foliate ormolu sabots below the scallop shaped frieze centered by an additional richly chased pierced foliate ormolu mount. Each of the three doors is decorated with beautiful wonderfully executed inlaid parquetry designs with impressive quarter veneered designs showcasing the exceptional wood grain. The doors display elegant foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheons and open to reveal their finished interiors, three adjustable shelves, and all original hardware. The sides display additional beautiful quarter veneered designs and a lovely scalloped movement. Above is the original Rouge Griotte marble top with a unique and most decorative shape and fine double mottled border. All original gilt throughout.
