Inari Handcrafted Media Cabinet in Spalted Hornbeam, by Mythology
About the Item
The Inari media cabinet is a celebration of spalted hornbeam, a rare native timber with intricate natural marbling formed by funghi penetrating the tree as it grew.
The cabinet features three drop-down doors with a panel and frame construction, and removable shelving. The base is made from scorched oak, and features octagonal legs. Employing traditional joinery, the cabinet’s mitred corners are strengthened with walnut splines, which mirror the rich brown of the hornbeam’s spalting.
On request, holes can be made in the base or back of the cabinet to feed cables through.
Every piece of furniture we make is unique, with natural variations in the timber which tell the story of the tree it came from.
