Jasper Chinoiserie Breakfront Secretary, Gilt Lacquer, Bubble Glass
Offered for sale is a Chinoiserie breakfront china cabinet by Jasper with bubble glass panels. The cabinet is adorned with all-over Chinoiserie paint decoration. The center lower casing consists of four drawers that are all faux bamboo framed. The top drawer pulls down to reveal a writing desk. The sides are flanked by a pair of decorated doors which open to reveal open shelves. The upper breakfront bookcase cabinet has bubble glass with brass grids framed in faux gilt bamboo. This is a very striking piece that breaks down into two pieces for transport. The bamboo seems to be hand-painted like a gold gilt that is between gold and brass. The original keys are present. It has interior lighting which has not been tested.
