Napoleon III Black Lacquered Humidor on Stand

About the Item

This outstanding showpiece has been meticulously crafted and then coated in a rich, thick, ebony lacquer. Numerous classic design elements include the broken pediment above a single door with an oval porcelain Medusa-themed armorial flanked by porcelain colonettes. The interior features myriad trays flanking a central bank of drawers with ornate brass pulls. The interior facing of the door has a birdseye maple panel framed in kingwood. The cabinet rests on a single drawer base supported by brass-mounted, turned and fluted legs ending in toupie feet and braced by an "H" stretcher.
