18th-Century French Bow Front Marquetry Walnut & Marble Top Provincial Commode
About the Item
France circa 1770, solid walnut chest with bowed front, Provenance: private French castle in Le Cher, La Loire region, hard to find such a preserved piece from that time with original drawer interiors and bronzes. Each drawer and side are highlighted with inset parquetry stringing lines, the rounded corners with fluting decoration and the top made important by a pink and brown breccia Pernice marble of matching bowed shape and stepped border.
