19th C. French Mahogany Salesman Sample Miniature Serpentine Chest of Drawers

About the Item

A gorgeous antique French miniature mahogany salesman sample tabletop chest of drawers, circa 1880. Antique salesman samples were used in the 19th century by traveling salesmen to show a small scale representation of the furniture they were selling. This fine chest has a beautiful serpentine front fitted with ornate gilt brass drawer pulls and mounts, and lovely shaped apron on slender splay feet. It's perfect for storing jewelry or other special belongings and would also make a lovely gift.
