19th Century Flemish Renaissance Silver Chest, Argentier

About the Item

19th century flemish renaissance silver chest, Argentier was made for a specific purpose ~ to keep a family's silver service all in one place, with felt lining that guard against scratching and tarnish. Use it today like any chest of drawers or commode, or for its original purpose. handcrafted from solid oak, it features a top and front facade liberally lavished with intaglio carved detail featuring stylized foliate motifs and bordering. Two half-drawers, two full width drawers and a double-door cabinet are all easily accessed for wonderful functionality. The shallow depth makes it an ideal choice for a wide variety of spaces and purposes. The wonderfully carved detailing makes it an instant family heirloom and conversation starter! circa 1880s Measures 31.5H x 28W x 17.5D.
