19th Century Louis XVI Neoclassical Petite Commode
About the Item
19th century Louis XVI neoclassical Petite Commode was hand-crafted from solid planks of old-growth oak and sycamore to last for centuries! The plank top features mitered corners underneath which appears a tier of dentil molding created from tiny blocks of wood. The corners are adorned with a half round ebonized column fitted at the top and bottom with cast bronze ornamentation in the Corinthian style. Two full width drawers joined with dovetails feature a tailored molding trim with exquisite octagonal embossed brass key guards and bale pulls with guards. Support is provided by tapered legs all around for a timeless, clean look. An excellent choice for anywhere in the home, even as a bedside companion or seating group accompaniment.
