About the Item

Early 19th century channel island mahogany chest on chest  circa 1830. Fine quality chest on chest from the channel islands, comprising of 2 sections.  Cornice decorated with greek key dentil freize, with a blind fretwork border below.  2 over 3 drawers in solid mahogany and cock beaded edging, canted corners and fitted throughout with original brass swan neck handles and brass escutheons. Bottom  section with brushing slide and 3 graduating drawers.  Bracket feet, standing on original lignum vitae castors. Original locks and key, a fine quality well made piece with solid mahogany sides. Restoration to brushing slide which is photographed, expected very minor surface marks,age splits and professional restoration to woodwork.
