Empire Chest of Drawers with White Marble Top, France Early 19th Century

About the Item

French Empire chest of drawers veneered in mahogany, with four drawers and white marble top. The corpus is flanked by columns with fire-gilded bases and capitals, which merge into the conical front feet. The head drawer rests on the capitals and has a slightly different design. The fittings of the three lower drawers consist of round knobs and escutcheons, which are also made of fire-gilt bronze. The chest of drawers has been expertly restored and polished by hand.
