English Inlaid Chest on Chest w/Secretary Drawer

About the Item

English inlaid chest on chest w/secretary drawer A Sheraton mahogany chest on chest with secretary fitted drawer (notice the brass drop-down support). This is one of the better ones we've had in some time. Impressive in appearance with striking satinwood inlay banded on each drawer and quarter fan inlay in each corner of the drawers. The top section has chamfered edges with a reeded detail. Strong crown molding from mahogany wood. This piece separates itself by having a fine secretary with fitted interior, inlaid drawers, and door, pigeon-hole cut-outs just a fine example of the quality. Handsome large brass handles on both sides of top and bottom sections. The chest on chest is resting on bracket feet. We have since waxed this piece to enhance the patina and condition the wood. Early 19th century from England. note* When the writing surface is open it is 28.75" to the floor.
