Fine 18th Century Chippendale Mahogany Serpentine Commode

About the Item

An impressive mid-18th century Chippendale period figured mahogany serpentine commode, having well-shaped moulded edged top above 4 cockbeaded graduated drawers flanked by canted corners with boldly carved acanthus leaves above fluted columns with flower and ribbon stop-fluting below. The commode, retaining original decorated swan-neck handles and side carrying handles, supported on ogee bracket feet. Measures: Width at the front 54 "/ 137.5 cm.
