Fully Restored Honduras Hardwood Antique Military Campaign Chest of Drawers

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this original Antique circa 1860-1880 fully restored Military Campaign chest of drawers in Honduras Mahogany with super rare four over three drawer configuration A very rare and desirable piece of military campaign furniture, this was handmade in England between 1860 and 1880, I have never seen another with this four over three drawer configuration before, the piece is one row of drawers higher than usual This piece has been fully restored as mentioned, the frame has been aligned, glued and clamped so its good, solid and straight, the drawer runners have been levelled so all the drawers run smoothly and at the correct height, there was a timber age related shrinkage split along the top which has had a skiv of wood spliced in, its then been colour matched, lastly the whole piece has been lightly washed back and sympathetically French polished, the work has been done in such a way so as to keep all the original patination but make it perfect for modern day use Dimensions Height:- 109cm Width:- 11.5cm Depth:- 49.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
