Italian Raised Cassettiera of Walnut Wood & Brass Hardware, Mid 19th C.
About the Item
An Italian walnut raised chest of two drawers from the mid 19th century. This antique cassettiera (chest of drawers) from Italy features a rectangular-shaped top, which slightly overhands the case below which houses two full-sized drawers, each fitted with a pair of stylish brass pulls flanking a shield-shaped escutcheon within their center. The chest is nicely raised on tapering squared legs. The walnut wood is warm and rich, with lovely graining throughout. This mid 19th century Italian chest, with its clean and linear lines, would make a useful decorative storage piece, great for a bedroom, or perhaps an accent case for your foyer or hall.
