Swedish Commode, Gustavian 18th Century

About the Item

18th century Swedish serpentine front three drawer commode. Gustavian period, ca 1790. The body of chest is beautifully bookmatched veneered in Kingwood & Tulipwood, which has sun faded to the most desirable deep amber color hue. The secondary wood is Pine. The ormolu hardware is rocaille and original to the piece.

  • Condition:
    Refinished. Minor fading. We had our professional restorer remove wax buildup and grime, rebuild the shellack finish on top of old finish. Ormolu bronze pulls were removed and cleaned.
