- A beautiful set of age-old oak haberdashery chest of drawers, English circa 1950.
- 10 glass-fronted drawers with original cast handles above a tambour-front base.
- The unit has been waxed and polished, professionally restored with new crown cut oak veneered plywood sides.
- A rare and stunning example of early 20th century shop cabinet furniture, perfect for all kinds of storage and ideal for those alcove spaces.
Haberdashery cabinets were designed for a retail environment, efficiency was key, and thus featured beautiful window-fronted drawers. Retailers would have easily been able to see what’s within each drawer, and swiftly retrieve the item customers wanted. Unlike other traditional sets of drawers, classic haberdashery drawers have a unique appearance, they are often crafted from solid, high quality woods, and are durable, strong pieces of furniture designed to stand the test of time.
