Vintage Italian Florentine Gilt Tall Chest of Drawers Lingerie Semainier

A stunning Italian midcentury hand decorated tall chest of drawers - lingerie semainier. circa 1940
Handcrafted in the Florence region of Central Italy in the mid-20th century, the curvacious serpatine-shaped solid wood case finished in opulent and luxurious gold gilding, antique cream and gilt painted, incised scroll flourish motif.
Rich Venetian Baroque taste, featuring a bow front serpatine case fitted with seven drawers, affixed with original brass pulls, undulating scalloped skirt, rising on hand carved cabriole legs, terminating in trifid feet.
Sturdy and well made, refined, elegant, and sophisticated style yet warm, relaxed and comfortable, with beautiful aged heavily distressed patina that can only be acquired over long periods of time.

Great original antique / vintage condition. Strong, sturdy, stable, and structurally sound. Presents splendidly, with nicely aged heavily worn distressed patina with scattered nicks, scratches and expected chippy paint losses, nothing that detracts from the display or functionality but only adds to the overall authenticity, sophisticated antique character and elegant rustic warmth.
