Walnut and Black Steel Chest of Drawers

The Vaneau Chest consists of three beautiful veneered drawers, hand made from beech plywood, that slide into a hand-polished and hand welded steel frame. The drawers are hand veneered with oak or american walnut, from FSC certified european forests. Two options are avaliable for the steel frame: a rough steel finish, that leaves some weld marks and irregularities on the steel, for an "industrial" look; or a smooth powder coated mat black finish. The raw strength of the steel creates a rich contrast with the warm wood veneer. The minimal design of the steel frame means that the sides of the drawers also serve as the side panels of the Vaneau Chest: as the drawers slide in and out, openings on the side of the chest are revealed or concealed.
